Tobias Endres is Feodor Lynen Research Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the École normale supérieure in Paris, affiliated with CNRS/ENS, UMR 8547 Pays germaniques. Before coming to Paris, he was research associate at the Institute of Philosophy at Technische Universität Braunschweig and taught at Technische Universität Berlin.

His work combines historical scholarship with systematic interventions in epistemology, philosophy of mind and perception, philosophy of language, philosophy of culture, and philosophical anthropology. He received his doctorate in philosophy from Technische Universität Berlin in 2018 with a dissertation on Ernst Cassirer’s phenomenology of perception. His second monograph, Nietzsche als Hermeneut, appeared with Meiner in 2025.

Tobias publishes and teaches in German, English, and French. His research moves across German, Anglophone, and Francophone philosophical contexts and often seeks to make historical materials productive for contemporary debates.
